Federal Student Aid
Eligible students admitted to a master’s degree program may qualify for federal student loans. Students enrolled in UF graduate certificate programs and nondegree students are not eligible for federal student aid.

How to Apply
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the appropriate academic year. Use UF’s Federal School Code: 001535. You may submit the FAFSA before receiving an admission decision.
- Follow UF’s instructions for applying for financial aid.
- Check ONE.UF and your UF email regularly. Complete requested documents and follow the instructions provided with your financial aid offer.
Enrollment and Loan Eligibility
Your course load can affect your eligibility for financial aid and the amount you may borrow. Review UF’s financial aid enrollment requirements and consult your financial aid advisor when planning your enrollment or considering a course withdrawal.

Scholarships and Other Funding
Use the UF Scholarship Search to explore scholarship opportunities. You may also find funding through professional associations, employers, and other organizations. Review each opportunity’s eligibility requirements before applying.
Ask your employer whether tuition reimbursement or other educational assistance is available and whether approval is required before enrolling.
Program Funding Restrictions
The online Shelter Medicine graduate programs are not eligible for graduate assistantships, fellowships, UF’s Employee Education Program (EEP) or the Santa Fe College tuition waiver.
Military and Veteran Education Benefits
If you plan to use GI Bill® benefits, other VA education benefits, or military tuition assistance, contact the UF Office of Student Veteran Services to confirm whether your benefits can be used for your intended program and to learn about required steps.
Active-duty service members should also consult their military education office about tuition assistance requirements.

Tuition Payments and Deferments
You are responsible for paying tuition and fees by the applicable payment deadline. If you expect to use financial aid, review UF’s tuition and fee deferment guidance and confirm your deferment status before the payment deadline.
