Chief Operating Officer, Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program
Deb is the Chief Operating Officer of Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program, bringing strategic, fiscal, personnel, and programmatic oversight and direction to the program.
Deb’s professional history has extensively been in executive leadership positions of nonprofits and state authorities in New Hampshire including serving as an Executive Director of one of the largest animal shelters in the state, as the President of NH Federation of Humane Organizations and Executive Director of NH LCHIP under Governor Lynch, among others. Most recently, Deb served as Director of Community Relations for Dartmouth-Hitchcock, New Hampshire’s academic medical system associated with Dartmouth College. In addition to this, her over decade of experience in consulting for nonprofits in organizational development, communication strategy, and strategic planning across the country allows Deb to advance the mission of Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine for the benefit of animal shelters around the world.
As a long time animal welfare advocate, Deb has also specialized in disaster preparedness and response for companion and large animals as well as field investigations and response for animal cruelty situations. She and her husband, Dave, have four college and high school aged kids, two horses, two mini donkeys, two dogs and a barn cat that bosses the rest of the herd around.
